Like the word “Ojai,” the word “Sespe” is also a Chumash word and can be traced to a Chumash Indian village, called Cepsey, Sek-pe or S’eqpe’ (“Kneecap”).
Imbibe your fav form of cannabis in a safe and legal spot, ideally with good tunes & good vibes. This is where the fun begins… Let’s get our Ojai on! 🙂

Hot tip: This place has some of the best fries in Ojai! Of course there are lots of delicious salads, sandos, sides and smoothies to make you feel full, happy and healthy. You can also get a nice pint of cold kombucha on tap from Revel (see stop #5 on the tour). Dine on their cute patio and watch the world go by for a true taste of Ojai.
“Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. That, more or less, is te short answer to the supposedly incredibly complicated and confusing question of what we humans should eat in order to be maximally healthy.” – Michael Pollan
There beneath the blue suburban skies
We’ve converted many kombucha skeptics to devotees here at Revel. They ferment their Jun culture with raw organic honey and organic green tea instead of the standard black tea and sugar method. The non-alcoholic fizzy drinks will put pep in your step no matter how much indica you had at breakfast. And getting an Acai bowl here is basically like a guilt-free ice cream sundae.
Revel earned silver and bronze at the 2022 Kombucha Kup!
Kombucha is a fermented tea that has been consumed for thousands of years. Not only does it have the same health benefits as tea — it’s also rich in beneficial probiotics.

You know my name
For thousands of years the Ojai Valley was home to the Barbareño-Ventrureño band of Chumash Indians. Archeologists say the Chumash were here long before recorded history. A body found on Santa Rosa island dates back to 13,500 years ago and is the oldest body found on the North American Continent. The Chumash called this land “awhaý” which means “moon”. The name “Ojai” is derived from this Chumash word.

Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be
A refreshing throwback to an era when things were simpler and books could be sold on the honor system, it’s a wonder you can find a magical book shop these days, but you can! Bart’s Books was founded by Richard Bartinsdale, an avid reader inspired by Parisian book carts on the banks of the Seine… Treat yourself to a type of book you don’t typically purchase: A poetry book, a book of photos, a novel, or a biography. This store almost begs you to try something new and different. Or, close your eyes and pick a book at random!
The magic of books
Stichomancy means, “divination by randomly selecting lines or passages from books.” It’s sort of like shaking a magic eight ball, but instead of shaking a ball and waiting for a random answer, you ask your question, close your eyes, and put your finger on a random sentence in a book. See what the books have to say to you!
Now that you've found another key, what are you going to play?
Bonus chill out spot
No one can argue with the power of nature to heal! We love the chill bird vibes here; there’s a full checklist of birds you might encounter on the OVLC website! Take a leisurely stroll around and see a wide range of native flowers and grasses and a stunning backdrop all around you.
A study of 20,000 people found that people who spent two total hours a week in green spaces were substantially more likely to report good health and psychological well-being than those who don’t.
