1. Sespe Creek

Because this is our tour, we can only recommend you shop at Sespe Creek Collective, Ojai locals’ favorite dispensary.

Sespe carries a great selection of the cleanest, greenest cannabis sourced from small scale regenerative farmers.

Be sure to bring a valid ID — cash and cards accepted.

Puff puff, pass!

New to Cannabis?

Sespe Creek is an award-winning dispensary with very knowledgeable staff to guide you. Check out our informative guide online: Getting Started With Cannabis

Like the word “Ojai,” the word “Sespe” is also a Chumash word and can be traced to a Chumash Indian village, called Cepsey, Sek-pe or S’eqpe’ (“Kneecap”).

Imbibe your fav form of cannabis in a safe and legal spot, ideally with good tunes & good vibes. This is where the fun begins… Let’s get our Ojai on! 🙂

Lift up your hearts and sing me a song that was a hit before your mother was born

2. Magic Hour

A tea expert can recommend a lovely sip of something to help you manifest or let go, energize or cleanse. Your cup of wonder will taste like bliss, we can practically guarantea it. Take a Child’s Pose or journey through your Chakras – it’s a great place to sit and sip for a spell. Magic Hour has compiled amazing info behind their unique tea blends.

3. Nutmeg's Ojai House

You just can’t do Ojai without getting a little… metaphysical. This shop offers the perfect place to get lost looking at enlightened treasures, take in the smell of incense, and even get a reading if you play your cards right. 🙂

It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out

4. Hip Vegan

Hot tip: This place has some of the best fries in Ojai! Of course there are lots of delicious salads, sandos, sides and smoothies to make you feel full, happy and healthy. You can also get a nice pint of cold kombucha on tap from Revel (see stop #5 on the tour). Dine on their cute patio and watch the world go by for a true taste of Ojai.

“Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. That, more or less, is te short answer to the supposedly incredibly complicated and confusing question of what we humans should eat in order to be maximally healthy.” – Michael Pollan

5. Revel Kombucha and Acai

We’ve converted many kombucha skeptics to devotees here at Revel. They ferment their Jun culture with raw organic honey and organic green tea instead of the standard black tea and sugar method. The non-alcoholic fizzy drinks will put pep in your step no matter how much indica you had at breakfast. And getting an Acai bowl here is basically like a guilt-free ice cream sundae.

Revel earned silver and bronze at the 2022 Kombucha Kup!

Kombucha is a fermented tea that has been consumed for thousands of years. Not only does it have the same health benefits as tea — it’s also rich in beneficial probiotics.

6. The Trimpin Sound Arch

Enter Libbey Park through the walkway on Ojai Ave and walk past the psychedelic playground towards the bleachers to the entrance of Libbey Bowl.

Don’t Trimp

The Sound Arch’s crown is an automated xylophone made up of 24 tuned metal rods operated by mechanical mallets. Each of the two steel sections weigh 550 pounds. An electronic eye senses when someone walks beneath , triggering a computer to play a xylophonic precomposition creating a unique percussive experience.

You know my name

For thousands of years the Ojai Valley was home to the Barbareño-Ventrureño band of Chumash Indians. Archeologists say the Chumash were here long before recorded history. A body found on Santa Rosa island dates back to 13,500 years ago and is the oldest body found on the North American Continent. The Chumash called this land “awhaý” which means “moon”. The name “Ojai” is derived from this Chumash word.

Well on the way, head in a cloud

7. Sanders & Sons Gelato

You might not think of gelato as particularly medicinal, but if you relax into the idea that joy in its purest form can be thought of as a spiritual medicine, then making a pilgrimage to Sanders & Sons for gelato or sorbet is not that far off the path of wellness.

After all, this is a family-owned and artisanal, organic, made-from scratch type place that specializes in FUN. From the cones to the scoops, you will feel delighted and satisfied on your journey after a quick stop here.

Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be

8. Bart's Books

A refreshing throwback to an era when things were simpler and books could be sold on the honor system, it’s a wonder you can find a magical book shop these days, but you can! Bart’s Books was founded by Richard Bartinsdale, an avid reader inspired by Parisian book carts on the banks of the Seine… Treat yourself to a type of book you don’t typically purchase: A poetry book, a book of photos, a novel, or a biography. This store almost begs you to try something new and different. Or, close your eyes and pick a book at random!

The magic of books

Stichomancy means, “divination by randomly selecting lines or passages from books.” It’s sort of like shaking a magic eight ball, but instead of shaking a ball and waiting for a random answer, you ask your question, close your eyes, and put your finger on a random sentence in a book. See what the books have to say to you!

Now that you've found another key, what are you going to play?

9. Ojai Meadows Preserve

Bonus chill out spot

No one can argue with the power of nature to heal! We love the chill bird vibes here; there’s a full checklist of birds you might encounter on the OVLC website! Take a leisurely stroll around and see a wide range of native flowers and grasses and a stunning backdrop all around you.

A study of 20,000 people found that people who spent two total hours a week in green spaces were substantially more likely to report good health and psychological well-being than those who don’t.
