Sespe Creek is home of The Pot Lifer Museum, a museum curated by Deedee Kirkwood aka “The Pot Fairy.” The museum features eleven individuals who are currently serving a life sentence or a de facto life sentence, which is a sentence that exceeds one’s life expectancy, all for non-violent, Cannabis-related crimes. Deedee long ago felt a calling to become an advocate, penpal, confidant, and friend to these prisoners… and once we got to know Deedee after the raid on our collective in 2016, we knew we wanted to be part of her mission to spread awareness and help fundraise for these drug war POW commissary accounts.
The Pot Lifer exhibit at Sespe Creek also features many original paintings by Michael Pelletier, a federal inmate and paraplegic, serving a life sentence for non-violent cannabis crimes. You can purchase Michael’s art in our shop where 100% of the proceeds are sent directly to Michael.
Together with Deedee and other selfless advocates across the country, we want to remain focused on the plight of these drug war victims. We urge you to visit the exhibit at Sespe Creek and click through the links below to learn
