Lagunitas

The connection between brewing and cannabis has a rich and intricate history with Lagunitas. Founded in 1993 by Tony Magee, Lagunitas has always had a strong relationship with cannabis. Magee often remarked, “It takes a lot of good weed to make great beer.” From the timing of their first brewery parties at 4:20pm to a unique brew that celebrated their brewery being shut down for not selling weed, Lagunitas has consistently found ways to link its two passions.

In 2017, Lagunitas took a literal step in bridging the gap between brewing and cannabis by collaborating with their friends at AbsoluteXtracts. Their first venture, SuperCritical, resulted in two novel creations: a vape infused with hop terpenes and a beer brewed with cannabis terpenes. Unfortunately, the latter turned out to be illegal. Oops.

Now, Lagunitas and AbsoluteXtracts are pushing their partnership further with the introduction of Hi-Fi Sessions. This hoppy sparkling beverage, free of both calories and carbs, is infused with top-notch THC & CBD sourced from locally-grown cannabis. It represents the perfect fusion of both worlds and is currently available in legal dispensaries in California and Colorado in three different dosages.
