Guest Blog by Garcia Hand Picked
From Trixie and the Garcia family, to the Holistic marketing team, to Bertha (the custom Airstream full of cool merch, positive vibes, magic and bliss), all the way to Mother Earth herself—women have had a dominant hand in the creation of Garcia Hand Picked. And since we’re in the midst of Women’s History Month, we couldn’t think of a better time to celebrate the inspiring women behind the making of this cannabis brand worthy of Jerry.
Women Grew the Weed
Looking back on the good times from life on tour, Mountain Girl shared her passion of experimenting in the gardens, planting the various strains that were coming through the band. Check out this fun video to hear more about how the women were doing the growing, the guys were just consuming. Things haven’t changed very much since then. Holistic and the Garcia family continue to look for female farmers and work with several majority-owned female growers, including High Water Farms and Moon Made Farm.
Grounded in Goodness
We spent a lot of time looking for the right partners to ensure our weed is worth sharing. We absolutely love our growers who, like us, are deeply rooted in respect for the flower, the people, and the planet. Our farmers and cultivators are committed to all natural growing methods, sustainable farming, and harvesting the best possible cannabis crops for all. And we love how some of our California growers are woman-owned and operated.
As part of our promise to protect farmers and Mother Earth, we proudly work with Sun+Earth certified growers. Sun+Earth ensures that cannabis brands are holistically, responsibly, and regeneratively grown for the well-being of all people, farmers, and the planet. From the wonders of organic sun-grown cannabis, to integrative pest management, all the way to lunar farming, we want to help protect these regenerative practices and make sure they remain a part of the cannabis movement.
We strive to ensure every aspect of Garcia Hand Picked has been carefully curated by the Garcia family to create an inspired cannabis line that’s spontaneous, harmonious, and can bring people together the way only Jerry could. We take an eco-friendly path whenever possible, sourcing original and unique genetics with stories of their own, and partnering with expert and honorable people to cultivate, roll joints, and make sure everything is of the highest quality.
Renaissance Woman
In a recent interview with Trixie Garcia, Julie Chiariello (Editor in Chief of Skunk Magazine) takes a deeper dive into the values and guiding ethos of Garcia Hand Picked, and the renaissance woman behind the magic. When asked if she had any advice to offer to other businesswomen hoping to make a meaningful contribution, Trixie responded with “Yeah. Know that your voice is important, and it’s the lack of women’s voices that has gotten humanity into this situation. We need to stand up and have our voices heard, and in so doing, we can help make the world a better place for all of us. Our traditional skills as women, in creating sacred spaces and being compassionate, many of our qualities have been historically missing in the modern world and especially the corporate world. Yet more women are being empowered to speak up and share their voices, and together with the quality of the product and the vibes we are creating with these businesses, it’s going to be impactful, and we can change the tide.”
Great post! A celebration of women and weed is a recognition of their achievements, contributions, and dedication to this evolving industry. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of diversity and inclusion in shaping the future of cannabis and ensuring that its benefits are accessible to all.
